This policy explains what personal information SDK9 Academy collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. SDK9 Academy is run by Steve Douglas, who is responsible for your information. If you have any questions, email sdk9academy@gmail.com or call 07824 426876.
When you send an enquiry through the contact form, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, your town or area, your dog's name, breed and age, and your message. We only collect what you choose to send.
If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email instead, we receive the details you share that way.
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange and deliver training, boarding or first aid courses, and keep in touch about sessions you've booked. We will not use your details for marketing without asking you first, and we never sell or share them with anyone for their own marketing.
Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement with you, and then carrying out that agreement.
We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and our business. They only handle your information on our behalf:
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
If you enquire but don't go on to book, we keep your enquiry for up to 12 months and then delete it. If you become a client, we keep your details for as long as we're working together and for up to 6 years afterwards, which is how long we're required to keep business records.
This website does not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to accept or decline. Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from malicious traffic.
Some links, such as to Google reviews, WhatsApp or Instagram, take you to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave this one.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. To make a request, email sdk9academy@gmail.com. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please get in touch first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
